Cantu Shea Butter Leave in Conditioning Repair Cream

I've been using this for a while and never thought to really do a product review on it. HOLD IT. (Apparently I've had this since the summer and I recently started using it like October/November). I've heard some good things about this product and some bad things about this product so I decided to try it out for myself. I don't remember where I bought or when so I can't help you out with that lol, the only thing I know is that it was $5.99 for a 16 fl. oz. jar.

Description on the front: Stops and mends hair breakage, leaves hair soft, shiny and manageable, formulated for severely damaged dry or coarse hair.

Directions on back:
For daily styling: Apply to towel dried hair.  Work a generous amount of product into hair beginning at the roots to the tips.  Comb through for even distribution.  Do not rinse.  Apply more to longer hair at the ends or problem areas.
Leave in treatment: Apply as directed for "Daily Styling" just after shampooing.  Re-apply and cover with plastic cap overnight for maximum absorbtion and intensive conditioning.
Frizz Free Hair: Apply daily to split ends or damaged areas.  Comb through and let dry naturally.

I don't use it for any of those I don't think.. well I guess what I use it for would be categorized as "daily styling" when I use it. So far I've used it on my curls and my straight hair. When I used this on my curls, I use it for my twist outs. I spritz with water, detangle, apply this product and brush through with my denman, apply shea butter to the ends and twist away. This AND the shea butter keeps my hair moisturized for days. I can forget to sleep with my scarf for days and only refluff in the morning and it will still be moisturized for like 3-4 days. I sleep on a satin pillow case so I'm pretty sure that also aids in the moisture retention. From the other reviews that I've read and seen, people tend to say that this product doesn't work very well with other products and I haven't really noticed that problem with me. I have to slick my hair up with Ecostyler gel after using this product and I don't have a sticky film or anything on my hair.

For my straight hair I just distribute it throughout the hair and seal with my olive oil and castor oil mix to my ends and style it (I usually do this during the night and wrap my hair up afterwards). It leaves my hair soft and moisturized throughout the day, but it doesn't leave it has moisturized as it does when I use it on curly hair. Probably because I'm not sealing in water with it. Nonetheless, I have had absolutely no problem with it at all. Doesn't leave my hair too heavy.. I'm interested in seeing how it works during the warmer months.
