Product Haul

Took a trip to my local BSS maybe 2 weeks ago to get some more rubber bands. Of course I ended up getting more than what I came for, but that's ok lol. Only spent 10 bucks and some change! (Not pictured are the rubber bands and shower caps that I also purchased. The 10 pack of shower caps were 1.00 and the rubber bands were 79 cents for 200). The Curl Enhancing Smoothie is from Walgreens and was $9.99 I think.

The pink Eco Styler gel for curls and waves. I think I'll be doing a product review on this as well. This is an 8 FLoz. jar for $1.29
I just bought the bottle. I forgot to take pictures of it before I put my castor oil and EVOO in. It was 89 cents.
I bought 2 packs of these for a total of 12. Both packs were $5.98 together, $2.99 each.

Product Reiew: TRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner

This wasn't a product that I was interested in purchasing in the beginning. I thought I found my holy grails of conditioners and was set on sticking with those. I ended up picking this one up because the store I went to didn't have Aussie Moist conditioner with the pump that I always use.

Description on the back:
TRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner with USDA certified organic aloe vera extract and avocado oil, moisturizes your hair for protection against damage and breakage. Our unique silicone-free formula for lightweight conditioning infuses hair with moisture for hair that's noticeably more manageable and smooth. Discover 10x stronger hair after just one use. Silicone-free. No dyes. Hypoallergenic. Safe for color treated hair.

1. Always start with TRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Shampoo.
2. Apply an adequate amount of conditioner from mid-shaft to ends first. Work anything that's let through the roots.
3. Leave on for 2-3 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.
4. Finish your look with TRESemme Naturals Lightweight Mousse and Finishing Spray.

Of course I didn't follow these directions, but I did use after I deep conditioned with coconut oil/castor oil/EVOO and washed with a sulfate shampoo. My initial thought was that I wouldn't be able to comb through my hair because of the shampoo and I would have to let it sit in there for a few minutes in order for it to soften up. WRONG. I applied it to my hair and I was instantly able to comb through it. Especially in the back where I have a completely different texture and always gives me issues, the comb glided right through. I ended doing a "curly puff" and this conditioner allowed my heat damage to be semi great. When I use conditioners with cones, my heat damage is usually straight. When I used TRESemme, it had a lose wave pattern.

I've decided that I'm going to use this conditioner after I wash and deep condition because that's when my hair "behaves" the best. Of course I would have to go buy some more because I only have a quarter of the bottle left lol. But I definitely see a difference between this conditioner and other conditioners that contain cones. I may possibly make a permanent switch to Cone free conditioners :) I give this product a 4.5/5. I don't particularly care for the smell, but other than that, it's GREAT! (The bottle is balance lol. I apologize for that)

Few updates.

A few things have changed regarding my hair, what I'm doing and the products I'm using, so I decided to just update this blog for those who are interested in what I'm using and what I'm doing.

  • When I first started my personal coconut oil challenge, I said that I would end it on June 1 or the beginning of June. I've decided to extend this challenge until the end of June. As I've said plenty of times before, I'm going to be getting more color done at the end of this month/early July, so I figured I would continue so I can get a proper comparison picture done.

  • I'm pretty sure I'm going to straighten my hair The weekend of June 23/24, get a trim that week and get a color the following week. I've done a mini trim when I did my hair in twists a few weeks ago, so hopefully  I won't have to get TOO much more snipped.

  • I'm getting the same 2 colors I got done last June. Can't believe it's been a year since I've last colored my hair and my color is still pretty.."vibrant" compared to the red I originally had when I first started dyeing my hair.

  • I bought new conditioner (I definitely needed to lol) and I bought a totally new conditioner since Marc's didn't have Aussie Moist with the pump. I've been trying it out for like the last week, I've co washed with it 2 times now. After the 3rd use later on this week, I'm going to do a product review.
Other than that, everything else is going pretty well :)
