My hair HATES being straightened now. Before I started wearing my hair curly all the time, my hair used to get really straight. Straight to the point where people were asking me if I got a relaxer straight. I could get 2 weeks out of it with minimum shedding. Now? My hair doesn't get as straight, and I shed A LOT now. The past 2 weeks I wore my hair straight because I wanted to get a real feel about how my semester was going to be so I could schedule in hair time and this past week, my hair shed so much, I thought I was going to be bald again. I was oiling my scalp with castor oil every few days and I've been having a real problem with itchy scalp and shedding. I'm convinced that my hair hates second week, straight hair. Absolutely convinced of that.
I did my usual overnight deep condition with my EVCO and washed this morning with sulfate free shampoo, conditioned with Aussie Moist and left some Hello Hydration in my hair. While washing out my hair, of course my hair wasn't shedding as much as it was when I sectioning my hair and applying the coconut oil. Thank God! Like seriously, the amount of hair I was shedding was freaking me out lol.
The picture above is the amount of shed hair from ONE SECTION of my hair last night. I've NEVER shed that much except during the Fall 2011 semester when I was stressing out about my accounting class.
I should be doing a product review on the sulfate free shampoo soon. Wanted to try it in different situations so I could give an accurate review of it and how it works with my hair. I will also be trying out a few new styles depending on how much free time I have during the next few weeks!
